Welcome to: A Magical Journey with Lisa Bonta Sumii, LCSW, CMPC: AthMindset® - Train Your Brain for Peak Performance
This workshop is inspired by Chapter 6, “Confidence is a Mental Skill That Can Be Developed: Train Your Brain Like a Professional Athlete,” from The Wellness Universe Guide to Complete Self-Care, 25 Tools for Life.
I shared my story about how I went from a competitive soccer player to a licensed mental health therapist, to a mom, and to a Certified Mental Performance Consultant®. After a career-ending injury, I lost my sense of identity and struggled with feelings of loss, uncertainty, and isolation. Through years of personal growth, I rediscovered my purpose in social activism, clinical social work, and sport psychology. Inspired by my daughter Malaya’s journey in competitive softball, I pursued a career in sport psychology to help athletes build resilience, confidence, and mental strength. With a deep understanding of the human mind and a passion for empowering others, I help exercisers, athletes (at all levels) and high performing individuals to develop the mental skills they need to thrive in life.
Following my story, I provided a self-care tool, my personal practice, to help you live your best life experience! Imagery, a powerful mental tool, was explained in the book to teach you my favorite method to develop confidence, on your own. In this live, recorded session, we will go through it together to experience how empowering my tool and practice can be for you, with my guidance in our safe container.

Understanding the Power of Mental Imagery: Learn how to harness the power of vivid, positive imagery to create a stronger sense of self-belief. By mentally rehearsing success and your ideal performance, participants will enhance their confidence and mental preparation, reinforcing a positive self-image that translates into real-world outcomes.
Practical Techniques for Consistent Confidence Building: Gain practical tools for incorporating imagery into your daily routine, such as creating detailed mental scenarios, imagining overcoming challenges, and building a "confidence reservoir" to draw from during moments of doubt or pressure.
Improved Resilience Through Imagery: Discover how imagery can help not only build confidence but also boost resilience by mentally rehearsing responses to adversity. This empowers participants to stay composed and confident, even when faced with setbacks or mistakes, ultimately strengthening their mindset.
You will need:
A writing utensil and something to write on — your journal perhaps
An open, eager, and growth mindset
1 or 2 scenarios that where you'd like to develop confidence
